1st Annual Poker Run
I would like to thank everyone who
attended the Veterans Committee’s Poker Run Saturday, May 31st
We had a wonderful turnout and beautiful weather for our first try at
this.
The morning started with registration
at the Moose Lodge, then moved to the Veterans’ Home for a car and
motorcycle show. The resident council did the judging for us and lots of
residents came out to view the great cars and bikes on display.
The winners were announced at noon as
follows:

At noon the Run started. Stops were at
“The Road Hog" in State Center. “Flatheads” in St. Anthony, “R.J.’s
Lounge” in Conrad. “R.J. ‘s Hideaway” in Gladbrook, “The Jokers Iron
Legend” in Traer, “The Bull” in Garwin, and
“The Old Timer” here in Marshalltown.
The evening wrapped up with drawings
and music provided by J.J.’s Sounds.
There isn’t room here but I would like
to thank all of the Veterans’ Committee members for their hard work and to
all of the volunteers, whom, without their help, this would not have been
the success it was.

Picnic 2008 I’m still waiting for suggestions, comments and pledges to help at this year’s Picnic. We will have the inflatable games for the kids once again, but are always open to new ideas. |
